To our Dedicated Maple Family: customers, family, friends and fellow sugar makers

It’s been an amazing 35 years since we opened our sugarhouse in March of 1991. And we’ve enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people along the way. Many of you have been coming back each year from the very beginning. We’ve seen many moms and dads with kids in tow who are now coming in with grandkids in tow. It’s so heartwarming that we have become a part of a family spring tradition.

We have enjoyed meeting many very talented and dedicated sugar makers over all these years and sadly saw some of them pass on. As active members in the NH Maple Association for over 35 years, we helped at state fairs, served on boards, travelled to many international conferences and expanded our maple knowledge. The camaraderie, mentorship and dedication of so many to our craft of making great maple syrup has given us a solid foundation for what we do.

Our family has also been a tremendous support system for us. Helping us out with many, many maple weekends and Christmas open houses. Our kids, grandkids, sisters, niece and nephew were all there for us. And my mom, especially, for all the time we spent designing and making our holiday wreaths together. Thank you.

But it’s time to move on while we are both still healthy and young enough to travel, have more family time and enjoy whatever else life brings our way. Therefore, we will be closing in late Summer 2026. It’s been a wrenching decision to make because we look forward to reuniting with so many of you each spring. It will be quite a hardship losing those connections.

So, where should you get your maple syrup in the future? The NH Maple Producers website has listings for many sugar houses you can search through. However, there are a few multi-generational family farms we recommend who have given hundreds of hours to New Hampshires’ Maple agriculture offering their time and expertise to so many. They are listed in no specific order:

Sunnyside Maples, Loudon NH; Clarks Sugar House, Langdon NH, Windswept Maples, Loudon NH

Our best regards to all and endless thanks,

Brian and Sue Folsom

Closed Sunday March 22nd

We will have ongoing tours in the sugarhouse of the maple syrup process from sap to syrup. These are ongoing continuously through the day so if you miss one part, Brian will soon start over so you can hear it all.

Kids can check out our Maple Leaf Trivia Questions hanging on the wall. Read the questions and see if you have the right answers! And the Adults can review the Nutrition Chart that shows comparisons between many sugars and how maple is a better option.

The shop will offer a full range of our pure maple products – Syrup, Cream, Candy & Sugar. But don’t forget those other maple specialty products like Ledge Top Maple BBQ Sauce, Sunnyside Maple Mustard and Van Otis Maple Caramel Popcorn. And there will be samples on hand to try as well.

Visiting Info

Please park in the parking lot if space allows but parking on the street should be limited to the even numbered side of the road.

Do not park on the street immediately past our driveway as it’s a blind spot for people coming our way and blocks the view of those exiting the parking lot. A short walk away there is parking on Sheepwash Rd as well.

Mud is everywhere this time of year so proper footwear is a must too.

There will be a porta potty on site.

Thank you to everyone who came out this weekend to learn about the maple sugaring process from Brian and do a little taste testing and shopping at the store. Our apologies for those who came and found the shelves looking like Mother Hubbards Cupboards…..bare, on Sunday afternoon.

We are also very grateful for the help of our two oldest grandchildren, who manned the firebox on the evaporator and the store respectively. They really helped us get through a very busy event.

This week restocking is the name of the game and we are busy making syrup, filling jugs, making candy and cream and lots more to get the store ready to go for this weekend.
