Greetings All,

It’s been another weird winter and the maple sugaring community is trying to keep up.  While we are about to tap and wait for the first runs, there are a few large producers who have tapped and boiled in January to catch the early runs the warmer weather caused.  However sugar content was still quite low, only about 1.7%, so we’ll wait for the sugar content to climb in the next week or two.

The New Hampshire Maple Producers recently held their annual meeting and we are happy to say we will once again be part of a research effort out of UNH to monitor tree health and environmental impacts that may factor into tree stress.

We look forward to another sugaring season no matter what the weather brings.  Although we do prefer the 40 degree days and 25 degree nights! (and a little snow cover)  It’s always great to see folks again and welcome new visitors.  As always we update the boiling schedules and hours on the website weekly.

We hope to see you soon!

Brian & Sue
