Holiday Open House

It’s time to think about getting your shopping lists in order and planning a stop to pick up some purely delicious NH Maple Syrup and other goodies for your holiday gift giving.  Now that we are in a better place with the Pandemic due to vaccinations and mask wearing, we will be back to our normal Open House hours this year.  At times the shop may be crowded so consider a mask for the benefit of all.  We’ll have all our normal supplies of pure NH Maple Syrup. Candy, Cream and Sugar along with those other specialty maple products that have been favorites now for so long.  Maple Mustard, BBQ Sauce, Drops, Cookies, Apple Hill Farm Jams & Pancake Mixes, and Maple Seasonings. And don’t forget we always have a variety of Maple Gift Baskets for those hard to buy for friends, family and coworkers.  

And don’t forget our gorgeous, handmade balsam wreaths.  They go quickly, so be sure to come early for the best selection!

Hours will be Saturday, December 4th 9am to 4pm and Sunday, December 5th 10am to 4pm.

Due to limited configuration issues with Square we can’t sell our wreaths in the online store.  They are posted to the online store for viewing only.  Ignore the “out of stock” language.  If you can see it, it’s still for sale.  You can call or text 603-370-0908 to order yours and pickup and pay later.

Holiday Open House 2020

Dear Customers and Friends,

Please join us again this year for our Annual Holiday Open House.  Of course this year will be a bit different than in the past so we can all keep safe during the Covid pandemic. Social distancing, hand sanitizer and masks will be necessary.

The biggest change this year will be centered around our Wreath sales.  They will only be able to be purchased through our online store as of Dec 1st and then picked up at the sugarhouse later.  Visit the Online store at folsomsugarhousestore.com to view the wreaths online and make your purchase.

The next change is an expansion of hours so that people have more time to come to purchase products and spread the crowds out.  So we will be opening on Dec 1st through Dec 6th from 10am to 4pm.  And then every Saturday and Sunday until  Christmas. Don’t forget that we still have Maple to Go every day as an option too for those of you wanting a contact free shopping choice.  All products and prices can be found on the Products page on our website: folsomsugarhouse.com  Just give us a call at 603-887-3672 to place your order and pay over the phone with a credit card!  Order pick ups can be done 10am to 4pm daily.

We’ll have our usual Pure Maple Syrup and products for sale along with the specialty items.  And gift giving can’t be any easier than picking up one of our Maple Gift Baskets for under the tree or for Yankee Swaps, Hostess Gifts, Coworkers and more.  How can you go wrong?

Closed Maple Weekend 2020

With regret we are closing for Maple Weekend this year due to the COVID-19 risks to all.  Our customers, friends and family are all very important to us and we want to do our part in following the guidance put forward by our State and National officials to limit the spread.  The CDC has just recommended no gatherings of 50 or more.  While we’ll miss the camaraderie and enjoyment of the day seeing old friends and meeting new, there is no substitute for safety.   Your health is everything so the saying goes.  So we offer our best to all for continued wellness while we wait for the virus cycle to ease and things can get back to a more normal lifestyle.

We’ve been having a pretty decent season so far this year.  February production was an all time high for us.  Brian was out straight last week with all the sap that ran day after day.  The warm spell we’ve had the past couple days gave him a chance to catch up.  This weekend we will be open as usual 12-4pm Saturday and Sunday March 14th & 15th.

Maple Weekend 2020

This year we will not be doing the usual Maple Weekend activities due to the nature of the COVID-19 concerns.  Maple weekend can’t happen without the help from many of our family members and there are several who are in the At-Risk population.  Our family is our #1 priority and there’s always next year.

We will have hours that weekend just for picking up some product.  No Ice Cream and no samples.   Sorry!!

10-4pm Saturday and Sunday Mar 21 & 22.

One thing we’ve learned in 30 years of sugaring is you never know what’s going to happen any given year.  The weather in January had things warmer than usual and even before that temps had been mild.  So when Brian put a test tap in the tree out back as usual, it was not a real surprise to see the sap running in the middle of January.  But the sugar content was still pretty low so he held off tapping.  But the more recent weather patterns have pushed things along so he decided at the end of last week to tap half the trees we usually tap.

This week he’s had enough sap to boil for 3 days in a row and sugar content in the sap is up over 2%.  So we’ll see how things go.  In a couple weeks he’ll tap the rest of the trees so we should have a full 6 weeks to collect from those trees before the tap holes start to close up or the season ends.  Who knows what will come first!  Stay tuned.  I’m sure there’ll be plenty of surprises along the way.
